Traditional classroom settings may not be the best learning environment for every student.  URHS offers alternatives to provide success for those students who may benefit from more hands-on instruction and smaller class sizes.  Our student to teacher ratio is 15 to 1 and we offer a variety of classes, from student newspaper to Ute language and Watershed  to film making.  Teachers follow Utah State Core standards to ensure a quality education. Students and faculty often enjoy field trips to local streams for science, local businesses for movie production and area Head Starts for reading. 
Our staff includes five full time teachers and three part time specialty teachers who teach Ute culture and Language, art, and character ed classes. 
The Adequate Year Progress (AYP) designation is only one of many measurements that determine the quality of our school. We are committed to providing the best education possible to every one of our students and helping each student reach his or her highest academic potential.
Celebrations of Learning:

• Writing across the curriculum -specially designed writing standards required in all classes.
  
• State-of-the art computer labs with internet access throughout the building.
  
• College and Career Fair– Annual event hosted by local businesses and state colleges which disseminate information on areas of study, educational requirements, necessary skills, and earning potential of chosen health fields.
